About Anne Furey

Anne has been in the business of creating images and transforming spaces her entire life.

Growing up in a small, coastal RI town, Anne’s foundation for creativity was laid by family who encouraged and LIVED the arts, music, sports, dance, education and a “wicked strong” Yankee work ethic…no pressure there!

Before she was a designer…she was a dancer, a photographer, a lover of Motown and Mozart...and always, a passionate student. Anne has degrees in Psychology and Communications graduating magna cum laude from Connecticut College, and a Masters in Educational Media and Technology from Boston University.

A career creating multi-image mega productions for corporate and
non-profit clients across the country followed graduate school, her creative impulses finding their way into every aspect of her work.

With a 20-plus year background in advertising, multi-media production and special events, Anne now brings a fresh and unique perspective to the interior design world. Her lifelong passion for decorating and all things visual, her arts and media background, and her years of freelance work with interior design professionals in the New England area led her to additional training in 2002 with Lauri Ward, president and founder of Use-What-You-Have® Interiors in New York City. Lauri’s five best-sellers, including “Use What You Have Decorating” have made her the pioneer of the “one-day redecorating” approach to interior design…an approach that Anne whole-heartedly embraces and includes in her services. Anne is a Certified Gold Member of the Interior Redecorators Network, having received the Founder’s Award in 2009. She has chaired and served on many professional committees including those for National IRN Conferences. Her passion outside of design (and her family) is working on behalf of The Joe Andruzzi Foundation, an organization that helps cancer patients and their families alleviate financial stress by providing grants to cover pressing daily living expenses. Her family, husband Chuck, and children Chad and Gillian, stand right beside her and actively support both endeavors!

Anne officially launched her business in 2002 when she started PlaceLift – One Day Redecorating. As her client base grew, her services expanded, and the business was renamed in 2010 to reflect those changes. PlaceLift – Anne Furey Interiors operates from her office in Mansfield, Massachusetts, and services clients throughout the greater Boston/Providence area (with additional happy clients in the Midwest and along the eastern seaboard).
